"Atopic state" or "atopy" refers to an allergic genetic constitution and reflects an increased ability to produce allergen-specific IgE antibodies to common environmental allergens such as cat-, dog- and horse epithelium, tree-, grass- and weed pollen, house dust mites and molds.
