The gel barrier in the tubes does not prevent the ECP from blood cells from leaking into the serum after centrifugation. Therefore it is important to transfer the serum to a new tube after centrifugation.

 

Recommendation: Transfer the serum into a new tube within 1 hour after centrifugation.
