Expected Values
Note! Good laboratory practice recommends that each laboratory establishes its own expected range of values.
A study with 126 apparently healthy children and adults (61 males and 65 females) without evidence of mast cell stimulation was performed. The age range was 12-59 for males and 13-61 for females* (Fig. 1)
The following results was obtained:
- Geometric mean 3.8 µg/l
- 95 upper percentile 11.4 µg/l

Fig. 1
Interpretation of Results
Normal values studied in healthy adults and children show a geometric mean of 3.8 µg/l and a 95th percentile of 11.4 µg/l*. Values over 11.4 µg/l should be considered elevated for both children (> 4 years) and adults.
All studies were performed by Phadia AB. Internal basic product documentation.
