Sensitivity and Specificity
The clinical performance of ImmunoCAP Phadiatop was documented in clinical trials including 836 patients with suspected allergy (1). Clinical sensitivity and specificity were calculated as the agreement between test result and a specialist diagnosis based on the established diagnostic routines of the clinic.
The following clinical results were obtained from all clinics using ImmunoCAP Phadiatop and using the 0.35 kU/l specific IgE calibrator as cut off:
| ImmunoCAP Phadiatop results |
| Positive | Negative | Total |
Final diagnosis by clinician Atopy/Non atopy | Positive | 483 | 38 | 521 |
| Negative | 34 | 281 | 315 |
| Total | 517 | 319 | 836 |
- Sensitivity: 93 %
- Specificity: 89%
The table below shows the results from a review article including 21 different studies with ImmunoCAP Phadiatop.
